Reflections of the Past - Planning for the future

Looking back it's amazing how much has changed over the last few years.

Going through old photos, it became apparent that I have grown so much and my outlook on life has changed immensely over the last 3 years.  My children have grown, I have traveled to exotic places, I have learnt lots and gained new skills, and I have also had some quite challenging events the most significant being my husband leaving and being separated.

We can never know exactly what is going to happen in the future, only plan how we would like it to be. Looking back at the past can help us to make those plans for the future by selecting which parts we would like to grow and expand on, and those which we would like to avoid, and make our plans accordingly.  Going through a picture record or a diary is a great place to start.

For me the events of the last few years have made me stronger and more resilient. I have learnt to take greater responsibility for what happens for me.  The saying "If it's going to be it's up to me!" comes to mind. Even the most challenging events have had a positive outcome, because without them I would not be who I am today.

In looking back and setting my goals for the coming year, there was one question that kept coming to mind.  Was I passionate about what I had been doing, Did I get up in the morning looking forward to my day?

The answer that came back was "Yes, But……..something is still missing"

2012 will be the year to add the something thats missing.  I love talking to people and helping them to gain more control over their lives. At the moment I do this on line and via the phone.  2012 will see this extending to workshops for individuals following the transformational curriculum I use. Over the year this will expand according to the needs of the people in my circles.

I will also be going back to complete my studies in massage. I came so close to completing it a long time ago and gave it all up, making excuses for a way out of getting the qualification. Yes, it was something I was passionate about and, dare I say, good at.

Being true to ourselves and following our passions keeps us eager for life and growing.  When we give up and allow what we love to slip away, a part of us goes with it;  often times it is also that part of our selves that others see and appreciate us for that goes too.

Follow your passion and smile at the challenges as they will only be challenges for a short time.

Wishing you all a Fabulous New Year and All your dreams to come true in 2012.
