The number of times I heard this growing up.
It seemed to be my mothers catch phrase whenever I was finding anything difficult. Usually my home work; and at the time it didn't really seem to help. It took time, a change in the way I looked at the world and my place in it.
Today, I hear that phrase differently. It means keeping my goals in focus, picturing where I want to be. Sometimes I use pictures to help keep that vission, or a sentence which helps to remind me.
This phrase now reminds me to look at other ways to achieve what I want. Putting my mind to it and coming up with a solution that gets me where I want to be. I start to see the opportunities that will get me to my goals, not the obsticles.
Where we choose to put our focus (mind) is what we will see in the world. I know it works when my 9 year old also says that he will put his mind to something he wants to happen.
Sound too simple. Often in life the simplest ways are the most effective.
