Count The Wins

Do you really get nothing done in a day?  Is that "To Do" list always glaring at you?

We grow up hearing what we need to do all the time.  Once one task is completed it's on to the next without a real sense of achievement.

To get from the beginning to the end of a day there are so many little things that we do and don't even notice or acknowledge that we've done them.  Though if any of these things don't happen or are only partially done, it would have a flow effect for the rest of our day.

As a mum my weekday mornings get pretty busy.  Getting my boys up, dressed, breakfasted and out the door to school on time.

If this is only half done …… well you can imagine the rest.  I started giving myself a little pat on the back for this minor achievement and you know what, I started seeing other things that I was achieving at home and in my home based business.

The weight of the "To Do" list diminished.  Now it's more of a check list.  Each day I write up what I would like to get done that day, usually the things that are out of the daily routine.  After each item is completed I tick it off and take a moment to acknowledge it's completion, I may say it's time for a break or reward myself with something I like doing.  At the end of the day even the routine tasks get added and I can see that I have achieved a lot.

I am achieving more and not feeling overwhelmed, all because I started recognising the little things.

So however big or small the achievement count the win and give yourself the praise you deserve for getting there.  Each little win moves us forward to those big achievements.  Whether it's saving for something special, each day you get up and go to work to make that little bit more money and put that extra bit of cash in the savings account has you that little bit closer to your goal.
